Week 14....and I'm leaving!

Hey everyone
This week has been awesome. We had my school leader Adriel Booker speak to us on Missions and different injustice issues.
I learnt alot of things I didn't know about the world, and what happens day to day. The statistics were unbelievable. We also learnt about lots of different people that are doing things to change this world. We watched lots of videos about these people and the sacrifices they made and the joys they had. It was really awesome. I am pretty sure God is calling me to missions long term, but will see what happens. I am definitely going to be back here in Townsville in April for a year staff internship, and then after that I don't know what will happen, but I am sure God is sorting this all out right now.
I leave tomorrow Sunday 18th Oct for Papua New Guinea. I will be gone for 6 weeks and will most likely have no communication, but I will try and see if I can send letters to my family and church. Still need to find out if there will be a post office where I will be staying. I will be back on 26th November so will loook forward to writing to you when I get back.
Please pray for my outreach team. My leader's name is Keevy, and my team members are Lexi, Derek, Callie, Renee, Jacob and Anthony.
I would appreciate this so much!
Will write again in 6 weeks!

Week 13

Hi All,

Sorry I am late in writing. I have been busy in the weekend, as we have welcomed the October DTS and new staff interns. There are almost 40 new DTS, and about 12 Staff interns who have joined us on this base. It has been very exciting and noisy all at the same time with all these new people here, but I am enjoying it. My good friend Micah, whom I grew up with in India is one of the staff interns, so it has been awesome catching up with him, since I have not seen him for 3 years. There are also two New Zealanders on the October DTS who I have chatted to a little bit too. I am soo excited for what God is going to do in these student's lives. It is so funny thinking back to my first day at DTS. I was absolutely clueless, and now God has just completely changed me and I am such a different person.
Lectures were great this week. We had Fiona Gifford come speak to us on Communication. It was good seeing things from a new perspective, learning how to only speak for ourselves, and learning how to approach conflict and repair situations.
Please pray for me this week, as I am feeling quite run down. I have alot of preparing to do as I leave this Sunday (18th Oct) for Papua New Guinea. I will be gone for 6 weeks so I will be out of contact as we will be staying in rural villages most of the time. I am very excited for outreach.
Thanks to my lovely mum and dad, I am able to go. I was very short on outreach funds so mum and dad provided the remaining for me. I love my mum and dad! I am still currently looking for monthly supporters, as I am planning to come back to Townsville in April 2010, and do a staff internship for a year which will mean more finances will be needed. I am currently unaware where this will be coming from. There is no specific amount that you have to give, any amount would just be awesome. If you would like more information on what I will be doing when I come back, please feel free to email me at reserved.4.one@gmail.com. I would really appreciate this.
I will update you again this weekend before I leave for Papua New Guinea. Please keep me in your prayers

Thank you

Minor Outreach (the last week)

Hey everyone! My minor outreach is over! I'm back at the Town
sville base, getting ready for 2 weeks of lectures! yippee :P
Once the 2 weeks of lectures are over I will be heading to Papua New Guinea for 6 weeks so please keep me in your prayers and pray that God would prepare my heart and also that the remaining finances I need would come through.
My last week of minor outreach was fun! Our base runs a youth group program on Saturdays from 2-10pm and so we took a majority of these kids down to the Gold Coast for a youth camp. It was an awesome time. I met a girl who I was in a cabin with who knows a family that I used to babysit for in New Zealand and are now living in Cairns. Her name is Caitlyn. We got along like peanut butter and jam :P. Her cousin Maddie, and friend Helena were also in my cabin and it was really fun just getting to know them really well. I had another girl in my cabin called Taylor from Mt Isa, and it was funny because she looked soo much like my cousin April, it was hilarious because everytime I looked at her I would see my cousin. That was cool though.
So anyway, 5DE was a combination of theme parks, night games, dance parties, surfing, watching millions of movies on bus rides to and from our campsite, and just building relationships with the kids.
We stayed at a campsite called Koonjewarre, and it reminded me so much of New Zealand because it was sooo cold. I didn't pack much warm stuff so I wore the same things every night and morning. It was still really nice though, and up in the mountains so the scenery on the way up was amazing!
I did have a tough week in sense of spiritually connecting with God. I found it hard to do with the amount of things going on. Please pray for me and keep me in your thoughts.
Good news is my friend Micah (who is my childhood friends) is coming to join staff this week. He arrives on Wednesday and I am very excited to see him as I haven't seen him in 3 years. It will be really good to just catch up with him and share with him what's been going on over here. Please pray for him too that his flights will go smoothly and that he wont have any travel worries.
I will write again at the end of this week.
Thanks for reading!

Minor Outreach (first 2 weeks)

Hey All,

So I have just come back from 2 weeks of minor Outreach and am heading out tomorrow for 5DE on the Gold Coast, which I have mentioned in previous blogs.

So my first week of minor outreach we had Bayside and Heatherton Christian College come for Mission Adventures. We had an awesome time getting to know these kids. Most of them were Yr 7 or 8, age range was from 12-15. My Outreach team was with Bayside Christian College, but both outreach teams and colleges joined together for the first week. It was cool because we became staff for 2 weeks and the kids really looked up to us. They had lectures twice a day, and we also did heaps of fun stuff with them. I was amazed at how much God really changed these kids in such a short period of time. I had such little faith, and that really woke me up and made me realize God CAN do anything, so much more than we can imagine. I got the opportunity to speak into kids lives, and I gave some really specific words. I was really excited that God was using me! So we commissioned the kids and then the other Outreach team took their college to Palm Island and my outreach team headed to Mt Isa on an 11 hr bus ride for outreach....and yes...11 hours. It passed unusually quickly, but I think the reason was because I slept most of the trip. Thank goodness for Ipods! (thanks Robyn :P)

We gave the kids the opportunity to really lead out while we were in Mt Isa by giving them ownership and responsibility for a 3 day Vacation Bible School. They organized games, skits, crafts for the indigenous kids that were coming. It was pretty hectic but they did an awesome job. The indigenous kids were soo happy to have us there and were climbing on our backs and cuddling us. It was fun. We got some chill time too and visited Lake Moondarra, where I got some awesome photos.

Urgent Support Needed...and some news

Hi All,
I have been given special communication time to write to you about my finances. I have just worked out that the actual amount I need, including expenses to be able to go on Outreach is around $1800 AUD, so I am hoping that you will consider supporting me in this.
I need this preferrably by the 11th of October, so that plane tickets and other necessities can be purchased.
Please pray about this, and even if you start giving small amounts monthly, it would be an enormous blessing! I am really wanting to go on Outreach to Papua New Guinea, and I give thanks to God for providing for my minor outreach here in Australia.
If you would like to support me, through prayer or finances, feel free to email me for more details and I will tell you as much as I can!

to give, you can either send a cheque to my parents :

Gia White
C/-Adam White
11 Sovereign Way
Paraparaumu 5032

or just do Direct Credit into my New Zealand Bank account:

Bank of New Zealand
02-0733-0041387-083
If it doesn't let you do the 3 digits at the end, just drop the zero. As long as the 83 suffix is there, it will work

Also, in other news... :)
At Youth Street on Saturday, it was my day off but I decided to go and hang out with the kids anyway, and God blessed this decision amazingly by giving me the opportunity to lead 3 wonderful girls to the Lord. I spent two hours with them and a friend of mine, just answering questions and telling them about Jesus and His love for them. I led them in the sinner's prayer, and I have never done that before so it was sooo exciting! So praise God for that! Yay!!

So far this week, I have been involved in Mission Adventures. We have two School Groups, Heatherton and Bayside Christian College. It has been a really full on but amazing week and I have had opportunities to really minister into these kids lives. I am really excited for outreach to Mt Isa. Please keep me in your prayers

That's all for now, but will write again next week when I get back from Mt Isa.

Week 9

Hey everyone!
Hope all your weeks have been fantastic. Mine certainly has. We had Dean Sherman, founder of YWAM Australia come and speak to us this week on Spiritual Warfare. It was such an amazing week and Dean taught us all so many things we had no idea about. It's really funny because Dean actually spoke on my parent's DTS through video about the same thing! We got to see him in real life which is apparently really rare. We felt really special because only the week before he came to speak to the 30 or so people on our base, he was speaking to a church of 13,000 in Indonesia! What a good guy!
I guess you could say he is pretty well known, but I had never heard of him except for through others on my DTS.
Anyway, so back to what I learnt....
So I found out Spiritual Warfare is 24/7.
Also..have you ever wondered why your non-Christian friends never understand you when you speak about your faith, and it doesn't really interest them?? It says in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light!
We need to pray and rebuke all the lies of the enemy, and pray that they can see the light, engage in spiritual warfare, before we even speak to them! I thought this was so cool. This can be before a phone call conversation, even chat, or when you take them out to coffee or something. This way, the enemy flees and God's light can come in!
Dean used a funny illustration, he said:
" Now, today at break I am going to give you all a box and you are going to take it into your closet, or dark room, open it, fill it with darkness, close it and then come out and we will all open ours together outside and see how dark it gets."
It was funny, because some of us didn't get it, but obviously, darkness cannot overcome light, it HAS to leave. So have faith in that when you pray for your friends!
Also, never say that you are weak, because Jesus died on the cross and now lives in you! How can you be weak, when the creator of the universe lives inside of you!
There were so many things I learned this week but I don't have time to write them all.
I may not be in contact for another 2 weeks. We start Mission Adventures on Sunday, which I have explained in my previous blog. We moved out of our house and are moving down the road to a Parish house for 5 weeks till we leave for Papua New Guinea, so its really nice. Finally we will have a living area and kitchen to hang out in :)
The kids arrive Sunday night and we will be busy all week training them and equipping them for the mission field. We leave on Friday for Mt. Isa, which is an 11 hour drive, so please pray for a safe trip. Here we will minister along with the kids from Mission Adventures to the Indigineous people in Mt. Isa, so that will be awesome. We go for 7 days and so I may be able to write again 2 Saturdays from now, but unsure right now. Please pray for my outreach, and also that I will be able to minister to the kids that are coming here next week.
Thanks for reading, will write again when I can.

Week 8

Hello everyone! so Week 8 is over, heading into Week 9. I've almost been here for 2 months, which is kinda scary.. :)
This week we had Captain Jesse come speak to us. He is captain of the ship that we will be getting next year and touring around Australia and PNG. He was an amazing speaker. He spoke to us about Hearing God's Voice. One thing that stuck out to me was that you can't be lazy, because if you sit around doing nothing about the last thing that God told you to do, He will eventually stop talking to you. That kinda freaked me out, because I am a little lazy sometimes, and so...mm some work to do there :).
I had a really good week. My finances are coming along well, thank you to all of you who have contributed so far, you were an answer to prayers.
I still need around $1000 AUD more, but am hoping this will come through soon. My leader has advised me that I have another 2 weeks to make that payment, so just praying that will come through.
I am still praying about the Australia PNG Ship Tour, but am very sure this is the step I will be taking next. I know that I am called to Missions, I know that this is an open door, and so I think this is what I will be doing next.
The April DTS graduated on Friday, and that was really cool to watch. I'm excited to graduate but I will be very sad to leave my friends that I've made.
I gotta scoot but will write again soon!

Urgently Need Your Support!!

Hey everyone! I urgently need your support! I have 9 weeks of Outreach coming up spread over September-November and I need a total of $3320.00 to cover all costs ( due this Friday, I know!!! soo soooon!).
Thanks to God I have already had 3 people tell me they will give me money, but am believing that God will provide all I need by the time I need it.
I am hoping you will consider joining me in missions, partnering with me in reaching the lost through your prayers and financial support. I am so excited for what God has planned for me during my weeks of Outreach. I have never really done this before but I know that I will be stepping out of my comfort zone and doing things I've never dreamed of doing. I have never been a public speaker, but God is preparing my heart to have something ready for any opportunity I may have to speak. I also know that while in Papua New Guinea I may be asked to lead some worship songs, and share Bible stories with the kids in ways they will understand. It is all so exciting.
For my 3 week Outreach this is how it will go:
Week 1: Mission Adventures- This is where a 3 different Yo
uth groups from Australia will come here to the base. I will be on staff with my DTS, and we will be training these kids for missions, and being a support to their Leaders. We will be alongside them, teaching them about Evangelism and just doing life with them.
Week 2: Outreach to Mount Isa with Mission Adventures Team-This is where we will take the kids we have been training and go on outreach, taking the gospel to Mount Isa, which is primarily indigineous. Sharing the Gospel can be done in many ways, even just playing games with the Aboriginal Children or just having the way we live being watched. It will be a very fun week with the kids, and I am sure they will have just as much fun as we will reaching out to the Aborigines, and doing anything from painting houses, to leading church services etc.
Week 3: 5 Day Escape- The Youth Street Kids here at the Townsville base come here every Saturday for Youth Street, which is kinda like a Youth Group. Some of these kids don't have many Christian friends and people that influence them in a good way, 5DE is a great way to spend time with them, building up their faith and also having fun at the same time. We will be visiting 2 theme parks, surfing, and just having time together. I am excited for what God will do on this trip, because I know that while the kids are having fun, they will be so open to what God wants to say through us because we are taking the time to hang out with them.
So yea, that is my Minor Outreach.
For my 6 Week Major Outreach, I will be heading to Papua New Guinea with my Outreach Team. My leader Keevy has advised us of the basics of what we will be doing but because things can change very quickly in Papua New Guinea, nothing is very definite. I am going to get my Hep A, Hep B and Typhoid Shots tomorrow, so am a bit nervous about that, please pray for me that I don't faint or something :). There is a high chance of getting malaria too, so am getting pills for that, but please pray for good health and God's provision while I am in PNG. In PNG we will basically just be heading to the villages that our Ship will be going to next year. The Ship will be going there to provide medical help and advice and will be going to a few different villages. My school is going with the IPHC (Introduction to Primary Health Care) class. They will be providing basic health care and advice in the different villages we go to, and we will be partnering with them and helping them out. We will probably be visiting a few hospitals and raising awareness about the Ship Tour that will be happening next year. Did you know that 1in 7 women in PNG die of Childbirth?? That's crazy! It makes me really sad that they don't have simple skills to be able to prevent this. Part of what the IPHC will be doing is training in this area, to try and take this number down. I am very excited to be partnering with them. We are also going to be doing things like leading church services, staying up late sharing our testimonies, doing dramas/skits, and just playing games with the kids of PNG. Please pray that I will not get sick, and that God will refresh me every morning as I wake. We heard from the previous PNG Outreach Team, that you hardly get any sleep because its just GO GO GO! so please pray that when I do get to sleep, that I really do rest. For those of you who know me, you will know I am a very light sleeper, and I do not operate very well when I am tired. Please pray that I will learn to walk in the opposite spirit, no matter what I feel, pray that I will have strength to do whatever it is that God needs me to do, and pray that what I say will effect the hearts of the people in PNG! I am so excited for what God wants to do through my team and I! Please pray for us. If you are able to provide financial support, you can either send a cheque to my parents:

Gia White
C/-Adam White
11 Sovereign Way
Paraparaumu 5032

or just do Direct Credit into my New Zealand Bank account
Bank of New Zealand
02-0733-0041387-083

If it doesn't let you do the 3 digits at the end, just drop the zero. As long as the 83 suffix is there, it will work.

Thank you so much for reading my blog! I hope that you will join me in this amazing opportunity!

I'm backkkk!! Yay!! You do not know how nice it is to come back to the base here in Townsville. No dust, no bull ants, no spiders, and toilets that flush properly hehe! Reminds me of how I need to be thankful to God at ALL times! We arrived in Hidden Valley on Sunday 16th August at approximately 11.30ish....2 hours away from civilization, and all other necessary things. This was my first time camping properly so it was really exciting!Hidden Valley is a beautiful place, tucked in the middle of a nowhere. We had a creek nearby which we could swim in, we even had hot showers, a proper kitchen with amazing food. Most of our activities were held in a huge shed which is on the property. The weather was really hot during the day but the night was a little chilly and the mornings the same. We were woken up each morning at 6am ( without fail) by the Kookaburras in the trees, unless of course you were a really heavy sleeper (which was not me).
Our first night was amazing. We had worship under the stars after watching a video “How Great is Our God” and He really is great! There was even some stars in the sky that looked like love hearts, and the Milky Way was able to be seen too. It was soo awesome!
We had amazing breakfasts! Pancakes, Bacon & Eggs, Porridge, French Toast...it was soo good! I definitely did not expect that.
I tented with my best friend here, Alexis Leavitt, she is from Laguna Beach California, and she is one amazing woman of God. It was really awesome to spend some more time with her. Thanks to my wonderful Mum and Dad, I had a really nice tent and a thermarest (though I didn’t figure out how to work the thermarest till the night before we left, so was sleeping on hard mat the whole time, silly me).
Our DTS got the whole first week to ourselves, there was just 28 of us, and it was a really good time. Week 6 was all about Lordship, just learning to make Jesus the Lord of our lives. My school leader Ryan Booker led this week and he did an amazing job! I made Jesus Lord of my life, laid down all my stupid goals and aspirations and promised to do whatever he wanted for my life. It was tough but I know it’s the best thing. Still have to lay down things everyday but it was awesome.
We spent most of our days here swimming in the creek, sleeping in the heat of the day, walking through the woods or just hanging out.
Week 7
The Staff joined us this week, which took the number of people on the campsite up to 120..yea you read that right haha. Imagine that, breakfast, morning tea, lunch, dinner, and supper for 120 people for 5 days!! I felt sorry for the girl who had to organize how much food to bring up! I was on breakfast preparation on Tuesday, which was the one day that I got sick. I was nauseous all day till about 3pm. It really sucked, but thank goodness that night I had an amazing sleep. Alexis prayed for me, and I slept through the night, even through the Kookaburras, which is a miracle J.
I spent alot of time with one of the Staff Couple’s little girl, Raelynn Woje. She is 3 and absolutely adorable. She clicked with me the day before I left with camping and kinda stuck with me through most of camping. I have gotten to know her mum Rachel Woje, and her husband David, they are such a beautiful family. I took Raelynn for walks and played with her in the creek. She was sick the same day as me, so we coloured together in the shed.
We had lots of corporate worship, and I danced around the field like a nut but it was sooo fun!
I asked God for confirmation on what I could do if I came back on staff in April and funnily enough, the YWAM base director Ken Mulligan asked me if I was interested in joining the Ship Tour that our base is going to be running next year. He said that he had been wanting to talk to me about doing something with music, because he knew that I sing and play piano as I had told him this previously and he thinks that God has placed an annointing on me and he would really like me to join this as it is a new development that Reef to Outback is taking charge of . I was really excited! The Australia PNG (Papua New Guinea) Ship Tour is basically just going around to different ship ports in Australia which our Ship is going to be docking in and raising awareness about the problems in PNG, also raising support for the tour, then we head to PNG and do some work there. I am going to PNG for outreach so it will be good for me to get to know the place a little more. Ken has asked me to pray about it. I am really excited about it and would love to do this but will see what God wants me to do. So yea, if you could keep this in your prayers for me that would be good, just that God would confirm what he wants me to do. I’m not in a hurry but its something I will need to confirm eventually J.
Week 7 was all about Evangelism and the Holy Spirit. David Stevenson from the YWAM Newcastle base preached this week. He is a New Zealander, so I talked to him a little about Paraparaumu which was cool. I had a really great week. Was a bit sick during the week which slowed me down but really seeked after God for a spirit of boldness to be an Evangelist and it was really awesome! I had some good God time this week.
The last night of our camping we all sat around the fire and all the different nations were grouped together. I joined the New Zealand group. It worked out that there was a stick and if you were given the stick you had to get up and do something that related to your culture. The New Zealanders attempted a medley, I got up and sung Pokarekare Ana to start off and then they joined in with Slice of Heaven and How Bizarre, it kinda flopped because we forgot the words to Slice of Heaven but it was still fun. The Aussies, Americans, English, Scottish, Phillipinos, Swiss, German people also brought some interesting things to this fun time.
All in all I had an amazing time camping, getting to know some more of the staff members better and just having fun with my friends! I will write again soon! Week 5...im leavinggg!!

So I titled my blog I'm leaving, so you would realize the importance of this blog. Week 5 has ended but Week 6 and 7 will be spent camping in the bush...sooo..therefore, I will be out of contact, as obviously there's no internet out in the whops right? haha
So just letting you know, I will fill you in on all the camping when I get back and also upload pictures to facebook and give you the album link, so you can take a look. If you don't have facebook and do want some of my album links, just send me an email and I will give them to you :).
So, Week 5 was "Identity" Week. The beginning of the week was a bit of a struggle for me, I had a few issues to get through, but I really am happy now. I am so happy I think my friends are a little weirded out, but hey, thats ok ... maybe they will understand :).
I have a boyfriend,yep...u heard me right...haha. No, not a human boyfriend, just the best boyfriend ever...
Ok, sounds crazy but I made a response to God yesterday, best thing I could do, and I'm putting Him first, instead of chasing after boys (which most of you will giggle at reading, because you know I've been a boy-crazy girl since I can remember) haha. It was really cool. God really romanced my heart, and I dont care how nutty it sounds. I was made for Him, your opinions don't really matter... ( in the nicest way possible) :)
It has been a really great week, and my eyes have really been opened to the way that God sees other people. I made ammends with some people who I haven't treated the way Jesus would have, and that was really great.

I just want to say I love my family! They are the best family in the world. I want to honour my mum and dad for the way they raised me, and kept me safe. I used to take it for granted, but THANK YOU MUM AND DAD! I am so proud to call you my parents. Thank you for loving me as I am , and for always being there for your little girl! I love YOU BOTH!!

So after all that, I bid you adieu till the next time I write, which will be in 2 weeks! I hope you all have a great 2 weeks!

Love Gia

OUTREACH!!

So we found out our Outreach location on Thursday! Yay!

I have two Outreaches. The first is for 3 weeks and for the first week my team will be joining Mission Adventures, which is a training camp for youth groups. I will be on staff here. The second week my team will be going to Mt. Isa, which is primarily Indigenous people, but has the odd white person :). The third week, my team will be going on 5DE ( 5 Day Escape) which is pretty much visiting 2 theme parks, hanging out with the Youth Street kids, and building relationships with them. I am very excited for this....as I've only been to one big theme park, because New Zealands theme park does not compare haha.

For my second outreach which is 5 weeks long, my team will be going to Papua New Guinea. We will be joining the IPHC (Introduction to Primary Health Care) School which is currently running.

We have been told we need between $2000-$4000 for this, and I have about $1800 saved up right now. If God puts it on your heart to support me, and help me get to these destinations, please email me and I will give you my bank details.

Please pray for me as I prepare for outreach, that God would continue to grow my heart for the lost and that I would be able to share my testimony in a relevant way. Also for confidence and strength.

Thank you for reading

Gia

Week 4

So...week 4 has finished. It seems these days I barely even start the week and then its over! :) This week at lectures we learnt about the Father Heart of God. We also learnt alot about the Trinity, which was quite cool. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, all have different purposes but are part of the same family. We learnt how, as we mature in our prayers, we will know who to direct the prayers to, because the different members of the trinity do different things, but that they know who we are praying to even if we dont.
At the beginning of the week on Sunday, the girls were told to get dressed up nice and be on the deck at 6. We were so excited, as we didnt know what to expect. The getting ready started at 4, imagine that, 14 girls crammed into one bathroom trying to share two mirrors. It was madness!
I'm sure everyone could hear things such as " is this colour eyeshadow right for the dress?....should i wear my hair up or down??" etc etc hahaha.
We soon found out that the boys had prepared a lovely 3 course meal for us, Appetizer, Main Meal, and Dessert ( which was Ice Cream cake). They did this all to honour us as women of God. Some of the boys read out some verses from the Bible for us, and then we all sat down to eat together. It was a really fun night.
Apart from that, I completed my Book Report this week and handed that in. It was on the book "Is That Really You God?" by Loren Cunningham.
This Sunday we are going to Billabong Reserve, I am planning on getting some pictures with Koalas and Wombats :)
Will write again soon!

Week 3

Well, I write to you again. Week 3 is over! I am still trying to come to terms with how fast the days are passing. This week we heard from Faith Dutton from the YWAM Kona Base. The topic was "Relationships". It was a really eye opening week. We learnt about obviously relationships but also aspects of God. I rededicated my life to Christ, which was awesome!
We had a funny time, when Faith asked us all to say what we wanted in our husband/wife, she wrote all these things down on the whiteboard ( such as faithful, trustworthy, loving, selfless, serving etc etc) and then she said to us..." ok then, so to find the one, you must be the one."
I'm sure the whole room burst into giggles, how selfish were we?? Thinking we could just expect this in someone else but not actually be like that. I really had never thought of it like that and so that was really cool.
She also said that you should find your call before you get married, so that you actually marry someone whose call is like yours. I learnt alot this week and I really enjoyed it. I also cleared everything with God ( as in confessed in public, before God, before man), but I know that I will have to continue to do that as we all make mistakes. :)
A few other things, I exercise 5 days a week now, so for those who know me, that is a huge achievement. It feels great, but my legs really hurt ( which I hear is a good sign). I have made some really close, beautiful friends who I get along with really well. It's great to have such amazing people living with you :). I'm also learning how to pray out loud and pray for others and become more confident in that area. I'm sooo excited! its only week 3!!
Thank you all for your prayers and support. Please keep praying for me that God would continue to do a work in me.
Will write again next week!

Week 2

Hey everybody. So I have finished Week 2 here in Australia. It has gone by soooo quickly, it's a little scary. The week has been great though and I have really enjoyed it. God is doing something amazing in all 22 DTS Students, and its ONLY Week 2! The week started off on Sunday with a day at the beach with the girls, just sunbathing and eating, and eating and sunbathing. Some of the girls were brave enough to go in the water and freeze :). Monday to Friday we had the privilege of having the Director Ken Mulligan come speak to us about a Clear Conscience. It was great. During the week, he just talked to us about God and God's feelings towards us and just gave us some insight into what it was like to have a Clear Conscience and be free in God so we can do his work. We had a awesome time on Friday just sharing with each other and it was so freeing and also exhausting :). We had a movie night on Friday too and we all huddled around my friends laptop and watched Kung Fu Panda. Today is Saturday. Every Saturday we have something called "Youth Street". It's a time where children from the community of all different ages come to hang out with us. They come here and then can join a group of their interest. The different groups are Sports, Skate Teams, Dance, Music. I am in the music team and today we will be going down to the beach with the kids and just hanging out and getting to know them. It will be fun. It's a great way of evangelising to the kids and helping them out with anything they need. I am still getting used to the schedule but have so far enjoyed my time.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for me that God would let me know where I am meant to go on outreach. Also pray for energy and for a positive attitude.

Thanks for reading. Will write again soon

I need your support!

I have signed up to do a DTS in Towsville, Australia as you all know. This costs a bit to do, as I have to pay for accomodation, food and various other neccesities. We also go on outreach for about 8-10 weeks. So far I have managed to pay for my course fees which are around $4500 AUD, thanks to all the lovely donations I have been given and also to my months of saving. I have about $2000.00 NZD left to go towards my outreach, which is soo great, but because we don't know where we are going yet, we need to have somewhere between 2k-4k ready by the 6th week of the DTS. I am praying that this will all come in by this time but am also asking if you would be so kind as to donate some amount of money towards my DTS, no matter how small, everything counts! Please email me if you can do this and I will get back to you.
This is an exciting journey for me, please pray for me and join with me!

My First Week

So, I thought it was time that I update all my followers on my whereabouts and what I'm doing. I am now in Townsville, Australia. I arrived here on the 10th of July at precisely 9.45 pm after 14 hours of travelling ( 6 of which involved sitting in Auckland Airport, trying to find something interesting to do). I had many misadventures on my trip, some of which included discovering I'm only allowed 23kg max for my luggage, that was an expensive thing to discover. Also realizing that I had to pay for the trolleys at Brisbane Airport and at this time had no Australian coins, and then having to lug my 5 bags off the airtrain onto the platform and getting a nice airport lady to help me drag them to the correct place. I got here at night and so everyone was asleep. Being the organized person I am, I decided to tiptoe around in the dark and unpack all my suitcases. The next few days were pretty casual, just learning all the rules and guidelines, and getting settled in. I also learned during these talks that we HAVE to exercise three times a week from 6.15 to 6.45, the whole base has to get up and get active...omigoodnnneesss! Trips to the local mall Castletown have also been quite regular. I have met so many awesome people here on base so far. I live in a flat with 13 other girls, we share one bathroom, one toilet and two showers ( comfortable living :P). The girls are really great and I have been building up friendships with them. I also have a work duty now. Everyone has these. Its a specific job we do in the afternoon, it can range from reception to maintenance to just looking after the children on the base. My work duty is being the House Cleaner...woohoo! I guess if I want to be a good wife someday I should get some practice at house cleaning, but it is just soooo much work ! :) haha. Makes me really appreciate my mummy! So anyway, this week is pretty laxed out so far and we start lectures next week. I will keep you all updated!
