Minor Outreach (first 2 weeks)

Hey All,

So I have just come back from 2 weeks of minor Outreach and am heading out tomorrow for 5DE on the Gold Coast, which I have mentioned in previous blogs.

So my first week of minor outreach we had Bayside and Heatherton Christian College come for Mission Adventures. We had an awesome time getting to know these kids. Most of them were Yr 7 or 8, age range was from 12-15. My Outreach team was with Bayside Christian College, but both outreach teams and colleges joined together for the first week. It was cool because we became staff for 2 weeks and the kids really looked up to us. They had lectures twice a day, and we also did heaps of fun stuff with them. I was amazed at how much God really changed these kids in such a short period of time. I had such little faith, and that really woke me up and made me realize God CAN do anything, so much more than we can imagine. I got the opportunity to speak into kids lives, and I gave some really specific words. I was really excited that God was using me! So we commissioned the kids and then the other Outreach team took their college to Palm Island and my outreach team headed to Mt Isa on an 11 hr bus ride for outreach....and yes...11 hours. It passed unusually quickly, but I think the reason was because I slept most of the trip. Thank goodness for Ipods! (thanks Robyn :P)

We gave the kids the opportunity to really lead out while we were in Mt Isa by giving them ownership and responsibility for a 3 day Vacation Bible School. They organized games, skits, crafts for the indigenous kids that were coming. It was pretty hectic but they did an awesome job. The indigenous kids were soo happy to have us there and were climbing on our backs and cuddling us. It was fun. We got some chill time too and visited Lake Moondarra, where I got some awesome photos.
