Week 3

Well, I write to you again. Week 3 is over! I am still trying to come to terms with how fast the days are passing. This week we heard from Faith Dutton from the YWAM Kona Base. The topic was "Relationships". It was a really eye opening week. We learnt about obviously relationships but also aspects of God. I rededicated my life to Christ, which was awesome!
We had a funny time, when Faith asked us all to say what we wanted in our husband/wife, she wrote all these things down on the whiteboard ( such as faithful, trustworthy, loving, selfless, serving etc etc) and then she said to us..." ok then, so to find the one, you must be the one."
I'm sure the whole room burst into giggles, how selfish were we?? Thinking we could just expect this in someone else but not actually be like that. I really had never thought of it like that and so that was really cool.
She also said that you should find your call before you get married, so that you actually marry someone whose call is like yours. I learnt alot this week and I really enjoyed it. I also cleared everything with God ( as in confessed in public, before God, before man), but I know that I will have to continue to do that as we all make mistakes. :)
A few other things, I exercise 5 days a week now, so for those who know me, that is a huge achievement. It feels great, but my legs really hurt ( which I hear is a good sign). I have made some really close, beautiful friends who I get along with really well. It's great to have such amazing people living with you :). I'm also learning how to pray out loud and pray for others and become more confident in that area. I'm sooo excited! its only week 3!!
Thank you all for your prayers and support. Please keep praying for me that God would continue to do a work in me.
Will write again next week!

Week 2

Hey everybody. So I have finished Week 2 here in Australia. It has gone by soooo quickly, it's a little scary. The week has been great though and I have really enjoyed it. God is doing something amazing in all 22 DTS Students, and its ONLY Week 2! The week started off on Sunday with a day at the beach with the girls, just sunbathing and eating, and eating and sunbathing. Some of the girls were brave enough to go in the water and freeze :). Monday to Friday we had the privilege of having the Director Ken Mulligan come speak to us about a Clear Conscience. It was great. During the week, he just talked to us about God and God's feelings towards us and just gave us some insight into what it was like to have a Clear Conscience and be free in God so we can do his work. We had a awesome time on Friday just sharing with each other and it was so freeing and also exhausting :). We had a movie night on Friday too and we all huddled around my friends laptop and watched Kung Fu Panda. Today is Saturday. Every Saturday we have something called "Youth Street". It's a time where children from the community of all different ages come to hang out with us. They come here and then can join a group of their interest. The different groups are Sports, Skate Teams, Dance, Music. I am in the music team and today we will be going down to the beach with the kids and just hanging out and getting to know them. It will be fun. It's a great way of evangelising to the kids and helping them out with anything they need. I am still getting used to the schedule but have so far enjoyed my time.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for me that God would let me know where I am meant to go on outreach. Also pray for energy and for a positive attitude.

Thanks for reading. Will write again soon

I need your support!

I have signed up to do a DTS in Towsville, Australia as you all know. This costs a bit to do, as I have to pay for accomodation, food and various other neccesities. We also go on outreach for about 8-10 weeks. So far I have managed to pay for my course fees which are around $4500 AUD, thanks to all the lovely donations I have been given and also to my months of saving. I have about $2000.00 NZD left to go towards my outreach, which is soo great, but because we don't know where we are going yet, we need to have somewhere between 2k-4k ready by the 6th week of the DTS. I am praying that this will all come in by this time but am also asking if you would be so kind as to donate some amount of money towards my DTS, no matter how small, everything counts! Please email me if you can do this and I will get back to you.
This is an exciting journey for me, please pray for me and join with me!

My First Week

So, I thought it was time that I update all my followers on my whereabouts and what I'm doing. I am now in Townsville, Australia. I arrived here on the 10th of July at precisely 9.45 pm after 14 hours of travelling ( 6 of which involved sitting in Auckland Airport, trying to find something interesting to do). I had many misadventures on my trip, some of which included discovering I'm only allowed 23kg max for my luggage, that was an expensive thing to discover. Also realizing that I had to pay for the trolleys at Brisbane Airport and at this time had no Australian coins, and then having to lug my 5 bags off the airtrain onto the platform and getting a nice airport lady to help me drag them to the correct place. I got here at night and so everyone was asleep. Being the organized person I am, I decided to tiptoe around in the dark and unpack all my suitcases. The next few days were pretty casual, just learning all the rules and guidelines, and getting settled in. I also learned during these talks that we HAVE to exercise three times a week from 6.15 to 6.45, the whole base has to get up and get active...omigoodnnneesss! Trips to the local mall Castletown have also been quite regular. I have met so many awesome people here on base so far. I live in a flat with 13 other girls, we share one bathroom, one toilet and two showers ( comfortable living :P). The girls are really great and I have been building up friendships with them. I also have a work duty now. Everyone has these. Its a specific job we do in the afternoon, it can range from reception to maintenance to just looking after the children on the base. My work duty is being the House Cleaner...woohoo! I guess if I want to be a good wife someday I should get some practice at house cleaning, but it is just soooo much work ! :) haha. Makes me really appreciate my mummy! So anyway, this week is pretty laxed out so far and we start lectures next week. I will keep you all updated!
